Announcements

Crime Watch meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in the conference room of the KISD Police station on Franz road, just outside the subdivision.  All residents are encouraged to participate in the Neighborhood Watch program by attending these once-a-month meetings and/or contacting the Watch Coordinator.

Neighborhood Watch Patrols

We now have volunteers who have formed our first RTV Neighborhood Watch Patrol. This group drives through the subdivision at various times to supplement the Sheriff's Patrol by reporting suspicious activity observed in the neighborhood.

Crime Prevention Tip

Meet your Block Captain and find out how you can participate in the neighborhood. Don't have a Block Captain? Volunteer for the job by contacting the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.

Who To Contact

Neighborhood Watch Coordinator:

Get Involved!  Our Neighborhood Watch program will only be successful if we have a high percentage of our residents participating in the program.  What does it take to participate?  At the minimal level - just signing up with your Block Captain.  Then just be receptive to the communications being sent out and keep an open channel of communication with your Block Captain and other neighbors.  Ideally we'd like all participants to attend the monthly meetings if at all possible.

Block Captains: Neighborhood Watch activities are coordinated through Block Captains.  A Block Captain is one person on each street or group of houses who volunteers to coordinate that street.  While all residents are encouraged to attend monthly meetings, Block Captains are required to do so in order to keep their block's participants informed and in touch with the overall program.  Other responsibilities would include soliciting and encouraging resident participation, distributing program information, and organizing participation in activities such as Operation Identification.

Neighborhood Watch Patrol: This program is a supplement to our two patrol deputies.  It involves volunteers who would take turns doing a 30-60 minute drive through Raintree Village observing the neighborhood; any suspicious observation would be logged into a patrol notebook, non-emergency situations would be reported to Sheriff Dispatch, while of course any emergency situation would be reported to 9-1-1.  Magnetic signs are provided for the "patrol car", which also help to advertise and promote the watch program.  It is important to note that Watch Patrol volunteers are to observe and communicate only and do not actively investigate or engage persons in any situation that they encounter.
